ABOUT US

Dear visitors,

We are Birgit Koch-Wolf and Klaus-Peter Wolf. We worked together as nature and travel photographers for over two decades before we dedicated ourselves to setting up the imageBROKER.com photo agency in 2003. Now that our son Moritz has taken over the management of imageBROKER in 2023, we want to realise an old wish.

During our time at imageBROKER, we had close contact with hundreds of photographers from all over the world. We often had to watch valuable life's work disappear because it didn't seem commercially viable and nobody could or wanted to look after it.

That's why we created bildschatz.org, a non-profit platform that helps photographers, artists, heirs, archives, companies and organisations to digitise and preserve their image treasures. Our aim is to show these treasures to the world - via this website and through exhibitions.

We founded bildschatz.org on 5 May 2024 and our organisation is just taking its first steps. We want to grow and make a significant contribution to the preservation of valuable cultural assets. In the long term, we will transform bildschatz.org into a charitable foundation so that this task can be fulfilled independently of us in the long term.
